Be A Chorister For A Day: Saturday 18 January 2025, 9.30am to 3.00pm

We are delighted to offer Choral Workshops for boys and girls aged from 6 to 10 years who are interested in becoming a chorister and their parents. The day will include:

• Children learning choral works and hymns, with tuition provided by the Director of Music of Lichfield Cathedral and professional singing specialists with many years of experience in teaching.
• The chance to find out about life as a Cathedral Chorister from the Choristers themselves.
• A short seminar for parents to learn about the commitment involved in being a Cathedral Chorister, the benefits of attending Lichfield Cathedral School and the choral pathways available to children up to and including choral scholarships at university.
• A short service involving the children that parents are invited to attend in Lichfield Cathedral.

Don't want to wait until 2025?

Ben Lamb, the Director of Music at Lichfield Cathedral, is happy to listen to children at any time of the year as an informal audition. If there are places available in the Choir, a successful audition could lead to a place being offered either immediately or for the start of the next academic year. If there are no places currently available, Mr Lamb will provide advice for developing a child's voice, including recommending local choirs to join.
